I've always been fascinated by how websites come to life right from my days in secondary school. I dabbled my hand a little bit in HTML and CSS but because I had no guidance, I lost touch with it for a few years. Fast forward to 2023, I had the opportunity to join a training program where I could learn frontend development and I hurriedly took the opportunity and I’m glad I did.
Seeing a fully functional webpage has always sparked my curiosity about the intricacies, time and skills that came together to form said webpages, and that's what led me to front-end development. I love the thrill of creating user-friendly websites and making user experiences online enjoyable.
What excites me the most about front-end development is the mix of creativity and logic. Plus, the industry is always evolving, so there's always something new to learn and experiment with. Though the learning process can be tough, demanding and stressful, the end result is always the motivation.
Finding out about the HNG internship was like a gift from heaven because it brought opportunity for me to gain real-world experience, work on actual projects, and connect with amazing people. It's not just about word of mouth; it's about applying my skills in practical scenarios and refining them through feedback.
My first time in the internship was great and I’m happy I joined in. Though I only made it to stage 4, I can say I learnt a lot during those few weeks and I met amazing people. About beginning my second trial at the internship and I can’t wait to see how far I’ll go this time around.
One of the best things about HNG is that it mirrors a real work environment. I get to collaborate with other developers, use version control tools, and work in teams. These are crucial skills for anyone aiming to land a front-end role in the tech industry.

Last but not least, I hope to have fun. Learning and growing are important, but I also want to have fun while coding, collaborating, and of course, overcoming challenges.
